Bennett and Brown Share Views on Smart Building Cybersecurity

As building automation systems (BAS) become increasingly connected to the internet, two ESD experts partner to offer views on how to protect against cybercriminals.

In a recent article published by Building Operating Management magazine, Cybersecurity Practice Leader Bryan Bennett and Operations Director for Automation Steve Brown co-wrote “Can Smart Buildings Outsmart Hackers?” where they answer several key questions every facility manager should know. These include Where is my organization most vulnerable? and What is the best way to collaborate with IT (information technology)? The article also outlines the four Center for Internet Security (CIS) controls every organization should implement regardless of size or budget.

Bryan Bennett has been evangelizing for better IT security strategies for over a quarter-century. His mission to protect organizations from the financial, reputational, and individual costs associated with cybercrimes fits well with ESD’s mission to improve society through the built environment.

Steve Brown focuses on helping clients achieve maximum results through the application of available technologies. His industry expertise helps ESD advance its mission to make society better.
