Miyani Offers Career Guidance to UIC Engineering Students

For an engineering student, learning from a professional can be an eye-opening experience.

During a panel at the University of Illinois at Chicago on Nov. 11, Hardik Miyani helped provide guidance to more than 30 mechanical, energy and industrial engineering students about careers in the energy and commissioning field.

Students came up with interesting questions for careers in designing, commissioning, energy modeling and sales in the building industry. Some of the questions included:

  • What is your daily job function?
  • What is commissioning and its importance?
  • What are the various stages of the project from proposal to construction, and how is it coordinated?
  • How has ASHRAE helped in achieving career goals?

The meeting was organized by ASHRAE UIC Student Chapter in collaboration with ASHRAE Illinois Chapter.
