Improved building system technology is making today’s smart buildings safer, more energy efficient, and more attractive to tenants. But ESD, now Stantec Studio Leader and Senior Security Consultant Coleman Wolf says building automated system (BAS) improvements could come with new vulnerabilities. (Read more about intelligent building security.)
Hackers are increasingly gaining access to building systems that also connect to more sensitive data. How safe is your building?
The Chicago Chapter of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) will be presenting Intelligent Buildings and Cybersecurity at a meeting later in April featuring two ESD experts. Cybersecurity Studio Leader Coleman Wolf, and Intelligent Building Technologies Practice Leader Mo Fahim will be the featured program speakers addressing the following questions:
- Are the systems in your building fortified?
- Is your chief information officer aware of how many systems are being utilized for building operations?
- How should information technology (IT) and operations technology (OT) work together to keep organizations safe?
Registration for the April 21 luncheon is open to all and free to Chicago chapter members.
Coleman Wolf freely shares his knowledge from over 25 years of security management and security engineering experience, and Mo Fahim focuses on helping clients achieve maximum results through the application of available technologies. Both work to advance ESD’s mission to improve society through the built environment.
