Changes to The International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) are adopted every few years, affecting electrical and mechanical engineering designs for our projects. For example, in the 2015 version that now applies to the State of Illinois, automatic daylighting is required, which prompts more design requirements and higher construction costs. Other highlights include the approval of decorative allowances for lighting power density, outlining minimum efficiency requirements for computer AC units, and better definition for commissioning activities.
