ESD Digital Practice Leader Samir Abdelmawla joins a panel of industry experts to discuss how building information modeling (BIM) can help make construction projects go more smoothly.

The session, “Coordinated, Efficient, Accurate and Organised: Optimizing Collaboration Using BIM,” is part of this year’s Chicago Build 2022 Expo coming in mid-October. Building information modeling (BIM) is a process for creating and managing built asset information throughout its lifecycle. Abdelmawla says the panel discussion will focus on clarifying communication between stakeholders using BIM through all stages—from planning and design to construction and operations. He says because BIM information is collected digitally, it is available as needed during every phase of the building process.

Other topics being covered at Chicago Build 2022 will be “Establishing a Powerful Collaborative Network – Women in Construction” (featuring ESD Workplace Solutions Practice Leader Julie Lardenoit as a panelist), “Maximize Energy Efficiency in Old Buildings” (featuring ESD Technical Authority Suzan Sun-Yuan as a panelist), “Workplaces of the Future,” “Achieving Net Zero: The Power of Effective Collaboration,” and much more.

Registration for a limited number of free tickets to the October 13 – 14 event at Chicago’s McCormick Place is available.

Samir Abdelmawla freely shares his industry experience and expertise in forums such as this to further ESD’s mission to improve society through the built environment.
