Two teams from ESD now Stantec and Stantec join a total of 600 Women Build volunteers in this year’s effort by Habitat for Humanity to construct houses for Chicago women who might not otherwise be able to afford a new home. (Learn more about Habitat for Humanity Chicago’s Women Build.)
Canstruction Chicago is a virtual event this year. In lieu of constructing an actual structure built of cans, teams are raising funds and designing a digital build instead.
This year, ESD teamed up again with Executive Construction (ECI) and IA Interior Architects. The theme is Chicago’s Can-Do Spirit. Our design is inspired by Chicago artist Hebru Brantley’s Flyboy. Last year, we won Best Original Design, before that, the ESD/IA team won the People’s Choice Award.
This year’s event will take place on Thursday, Aug. 27. It will be virtual and there is no charge to attend. Voting for the People’s Choice Award will take place during the event. Register now!
Funds raised through Virtual Canstruction Chicago will be given to the Greater Chicago Food Depository, which will then purchase food for our community. The Greater Chicago Food Depository has seen a 90% increase in need of services since January.
