Improved building system technology is making today’s smart buildings safer, more energy efficient, and more attractive to tenants. But ESD, now Stantec Studio Leader and Senior Security Consultant Coleman Wolf says building automated system (BAS) improvements could come with new vulnerabilities. (Read more about intelligent building security.)
If an organization’s security program fails to incorporate independent testing, there could be more at risk than a few faulty devices.
Coleman Wolf will talk about this topic and more during the panel discussion “Critical Testing Programs for Security Operations” at the Global Security Exchange (GSX) conference in Las Vegas on Tuesday, Sept. 25. He will describe how using poorly designed and untested products, making installation mistakes and embracing security management processes that do not deliver on the security design intent can result in ineffective security, unsafe conditions, elevated maintenance expenses and missed opportunities to reduce insurance expenses.
