Mo Fahim leads CoreNet Global Chicago Chapter panel focused on ways to improve the post-pandemic workplace.
Touchless technology has been and will be implemented more frequently because of the pandemic.
And the acceleration of touchless was one of the topics when ESD Practice Leader for Intelligent Building Technologies Mo Fahim moderated the CoreNet Global Chicago Chapter virtual panel “Improving the Post-Pandemic Office with Technology” on Oct. 29. Myrna Coronado-Brookover, senior vice president for Transwestern’s Midwest Asset Services Group, talked about how tenants can access elevators remotely (as opposed to touching buttons) and more at 77 W. Wacker.
“We’re relying on technology to streamline the process to the touchless experience,” said Coronado-Brookover, with whom ESD also worked on the 77 W. Wacker building to figure out an innovative way to remove and replace aging cooling towers. “Technology can perform health screenings. We’re using a real-chat feature so tenants have access to us during business hours to inspire confidence and trust.”
The panelists included Thru Shivakumar of Cohesion, an ESD spinoff which raised $6.5 million for its SaaS intelligent building platform this year. Other panelists were Drew DePriest, lead for Digital Solutions and Strategy at CBRE | Host, Alan Ni, global director of Smart Spaces & IoT for Aruba, and Jay Leedy, director of business development at Diversified.
ESD has been involved in implementing cutting-edge technologies since the pandemic began. We recently teamed up with Riverside Investment & Development and Cohesion to deploy a state-of-the-art indoor air quality program at 150 N. Riverside in Chicago.
