Thermal Performance of Building Envelope Testing

Throughout the years there have been several movements focused on the environment. Public engagement and governmental support have yielded awareness, regulations, and action toward improving our environment. As engineers and enthusiasts of the built environment, ESD focuses on the art and science of how each element of a building contributes to making our world a better place for future generations. Sustainability, carbon reduction, and energy efficiency are not just terms. They are a “call to action” to make a difference through our knowledge, skills, and understanding of our client’s drivers while creating buildings impacting the quality of life for thousands of people each day.

Expanding on the art and science of building engineering, Facility Executive recently published an article written about modeling building envelope thermal performance: Testing Thermal Performance of Building Envelope. The article summarizes research and offers best practices for owners, architects, engineers, and operators to utilize for making informed holistic design decisions.
