As building owners, operators, and developers adapt to a hybrid work model, creating a welcoming office space is more important than ever. Five teams worked hard developing their submissions for the second Tech Challenge, whose theme was “Sustainable Design in the Developing World.”
After voting, the winning group was announced: Samantha Davidson, Ken Griffin and Tim Zelazny. They created a desalination plant and rooftop crop for Algeria, which is experiencing its worst drought in five decades.
The contest was developed by ESDi (ESD Innovation), a group dedicated to improving collaboration across the company and promoting a culture that encourages innovation. The 2016 Tech Challenge also drew a number of spirited entries.
Programs like the Tech Challenge help ESD now Stantec further its mission to build communities and improve society through the built environment.
