Schlattman Examines the Need for Speed in Hyperscale and Multi-Tenant Data Centers

ESD Practice Leader for Mission Critical Facilities says the information technology (IT) industry is answering public demand to deploy services faster than ever.

In his latest column for Mission Critical Magazine, Paul Schlattman says data center design services have never been in higher demand than they are now. As part of Mission Critical’s On Target Series, Schlattman’s article “Racing to the Edge: Delivery versus Demand” says facility design has turned to more of an industrial type of production versus the typical colocation spaces previously seen.

Schlattman says with the trend toward “edge compute,” there are several other ways to get to a “speed in delivery” method including identifying areas where buildings can support data processing. The big question Schlattman suggests is can the speed of deployment keep up with demand?

Paul Schlattman is an internationally renowned speaker and has published numerous articles within the industry to further ESD’s mission to improve society through the built environment.
