WMS Gaming?s new Corporate Headquarters, located at 2718 W Roscoe Ave in Chicago, Illinois, is a new 120,000 sf, five-story LEED Platinum office building. ESD served as the engineer of record, designing the mechanical systems as well as electrical, fire alarm, plumbing, fire protection, low voltage, and audio visual systems. Several innovative design strategies were implemented as part of the mechanical design to allow the building to reduce utility related operating costs a projected 28% below ASHRAE 90.1 requirements and will contribute to a healthier and more comfortable environment for the buildings occupants.. An under floor air distribution system is being utilized to enhance controllability and occupant comfort. The building?s main rooftop units provide conditioned air to the building more efficiently by taking advantage of evaporative cooled condensers. In the kitchen, a variable speed kitchen exhaust system ensures energy is not wasted during periods of reduced demand. Also, MERV 13 filtration and carbon dioxide monitoring ensure optimum indoor environmental quality.
