Today’s smart devices for consumers unite an array of functions, including phone, e-mail, video and more. Technology is also uniting systems in buildings, allowing disparate ones to function together.
In his presentation “Automation Master Planning and Intelligent Buildings,” delivered recently to two ASHRAE chapters in Texas, Jim Vallort shows the benefits of building controls master planning, which include greater occupant comfort, reduced operating costs and energy optimization. Creating intelligent buildings, in fact, is a trend that shows no sign of abating.
Vallort also recently gave a talk on heating/cooling plant strategies in Brazil and one about intelligent buildings in Pakistan (which earned a Best Paper Award), proving that ESD is willing to head to all corners of the earth to share its knowledge.
