Jalayerian Explains How to Optimize Energy Performance During ASHRAE Event

Energy use in tall commercial buildings has declined steadily for decades, in part because innovative measures and stricter codes have helped optimize energy performance.

Mehdi Jalayerian discussed how an integrative design process and other factors can also boost energy efficiency in his presentation “Optimizing Energy Performance of Tall Buildings” at the 2020 ASHRAE Virtual Conference. Using building examples from around the world, Jalayerian showed how to apply focused energy analysis for reducing building energy consumption and how to analyze the thermal comfort of existing building spaces and determine paths for improving the envelope.
