ESD Senior Managing Director Mehdi Jalayerian will be the featured presenter at an upcoming Professional Development/Architectural and Engineering Design (PD/AED) Seminar Series at Northwestern University’s McCormick School of Engineering.

Various building energy trends and design strategies for a wide range of building types will be showcased when Jalayerian meets with students and professionals at the April 10 event.

Jalayerian is expected to highlight collaboration as a key factor to optimizing the energy and operational performance of buildings. That is because many factors, including building configuration/massing and envelope play an important role in successfully meeting energy codes and sustainability goals. He believes the art of designing a beautiful façade that balances elements of loss/gain, daylight, and solar radiation requires an optimized integrated solution.

Jalayerian will be sharing his 35+ years of experience integrating building systems design into some of the world’s most iconic structures.

Mehdi Jalayerian freely shares his expert knowledge of high-rise and supertall buildings with students and industry professionals alike to promote ESD’s mission to improve society through the built environment.
