In a recent interview for CommercialCafe, ESD, now Stantec Practice Leader for Intelligent Building Technology Mo Fahim shares his thoughts about smart/intelligent building trends and the role of technology within the consulting engineering and commercial real estate industry.

Asked what is essential for building owners to provide their tenants, Fahim said: “From a technology perspective, a robust digital infrastructure; pervasive wireless and cellular connectivity; as well as both physical and cyber security measures are absolute table stakes and should be thoroughly vetted by tenants when exploring new properties.” He says smart building platforms as well as the breadth and depth of features and offered services will differentiate Class A buildings from the rest.
