ESD And Its Partners Look to Shine at Canstruction Chicago

ESD’s values are to respect everyone, work hard and play to win – and all three will be employed at this year’s Canstruction Chicago event.

ESD has teamed up with Executive Construction (ECI) and IA Interior Architects to participate in the build, which takes place on Thursday, Oct. 10 at the Merchandise Mart. The creations will be open to the public for viewing from Friday, Oct. 11-Sunday, Nov. 3. Last year, the ESD/IA Canstruction team won the People’s Choice Award. The volunteers developed a large rhino and a baby rhino from food cans.

Canstruction is a worldwide charity which hosts competitions, exhibitions and events showcasing colossal structures made entirely out of full cans of food. In 2018, Canstruction Chicago collected more than 138,000 pounds of non-perishable items for the Greater Chicago Food Depository’s network of 700 soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters and programs throughout Cook County.
