As companies increasingly store their data in offsite data centers, it is important for them to know that these facilities are as efficient as possible.
Michael Mar talked about the importance of implementing sustainable strategies for the QTS Data Center, which is housed in a former Chicago Sun-Times printing plant, in the latest issue of Construction Today. He noted how the project team recycled as many materials as possible from the original building, including air-handling units, copper wiring, steel pipes and mechanical ductwork, and also pursued other initiatives to guarantee sustainability.
