Jalayerian to Present on Tall Building Pressure Mitigation Strategies
The 2021 ASHRAE Virtual Annual Conference is slated to be a global event with live sessions from experts around the world.
As a featured presenting author, Mehdi Jalayerian will be discussing “The Impact of Uncontrolled Building Pressure on HVAC Systems Design and Performance of Tall Buildings.” The presentation will discuss how uncontrolled air movement into and out of a tall building due to wind pressures, air buoyancy, or stack effect can cause building pressure imbalance that can significantly impact heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system design and performance. Jalayerian will also examine the stack effect impact on building HVAC system design, operation, and energy performance while suggesting methods to mitigate and manage these impacts
Jalayerian's presentation is part of Seminar 66: Stack Effect and Wind Induces Building Pressure Mitigation Strategies in Tall Buildings. The virtual conference runs from June 28-30. It will feature over 50 live sessions on topics ranging from the COVID-19 pandemic to building decarbonization, the fundamentals of climate change, and more.
