Keeping Buildings Safe and Efficient

Healthy, environmentally friendly office space is in demand now more than ever.

In a new article published in REjournals, Tim Zelazny explores “How to Keep Your Building Class A.” As building owners tirelessly juggle tenant needs, building operations and maintenance, and budgets, the recent pandemic has tenants asking how safe is their office space and how can they reduce their carbon footprint to meet corporate sustainability goals. Zelazny says the pivot to healthier and more eco-friendly workspaces is possible for both new construction and existing buildings seeking WELL and LEED certifications. His article cites examples from projects at 155 North Wacker and 151 North Franklin in Chicago. Zelazny concludes healthy and low-carbon buildings are here to stay, especially those with tenants who are looking to attract top talent and meet corporate carbon reduction targets.
