Maniar Winds Down Successful Career in Power Distribution Systems, Lighting

Expert in planning and design known for his informative ‘Maniarisms.’

Yogesh Maniar has enjoyed a long career as an expert in planning and design of normal and emergency power distribution systems, lighting and various communication systems.

Maniar is poised to retire from ESD on Friday, Nov. 13. Though he joined us only five years ago, his impact – especially as a mentor – belies his short tenure.

“Yogesh has imparted a lasting legacy at ESD by sharing his deep electrical technical knowledge with the more junior engineers,” explained Tyler Jensen, studio leader in High Performance Buildings. “He has always prioritized mentorship and growth, working to guide and oversee the electrical design while providing ample opportunity for the engineering team to take on new responsibilities and grow their careers.”

Added Andrew Lehrer, practice leader of the High Performance Buildings group, “Upon joining us he immediately embraced our team and took a hands-on, personal approach to developing our younger engineers. He is never too busy to help someone learn and develop, and his deep knowledge crosses a wide range of projects and industries.

“In addition to his expertise in high rise, repositioning, and workplace design, Yogesh is known for his kind wisdom delivered with a sprinkling of humorous puns – what I’ve come to call ‘Maniarisms.’” Lehrer’s favorite Maniarism – which essentially are observations which sum up an essential truth, such as the importance of attitude – is pinned up in his office.

We wish Yogesh nothing but the best in his well-deserved retirement.
