Karnatz to Highlight Smart Building Work at BuiltWorlds Event

Smart buildings – ones connected by the Internet of Things to make effective decisions – increase energy efficiency and decrease the chance of detrimental environmental impacts. In that way, work on smart buildings fits nicely with ESD’s mission of Improving Society Through the Built Environment.

ESD President Kurt Karnatz, cohesion CEO Thru Shivakumar and Brian Keaty, vice president and general manager of The John Buck Company will discuss their work creating a connected building in downtown Chicago during “Building a Smart Building” at the BuiltWorlds Building Conference on Thursday, March 5. They will walk through the process of completing this project at 151 North Franklin, which was finalist for the Most Intelligent Building Award. Cohesion is an intelligent building software company ESD started before spinning it out in 2018.
