Zelazny Explains Steps to Historic Certification at Chicago Building
The news is out that 151 North Franklin in Chicago, developed by The John Buck Company, became the first high-rise building in the United States to earn the WELL v1 Core & Shell Gold certification. But how did it happen?
Tim Zelazny – who led the certification process as part of ESD’s Energy+Eco group – explained the requirements that needed to be met and more in “Doing Well at 500 Feet” for the Illinois Real Estate Journal. He talked about the seven WELL core concepts that needed to be achieved and noted a handful of challenges that were overcome to make history as the inaugural WELL v1 Core & Shell Gold high-rise.
