Demirdoven Relates Importance of BIM at Symposium

Building Information Models (BIMs) are important to building performance optimization. To secure a future of reduced energy use and environmental impacts, cultivating a technology-embracing community is key in developing and maintaining successful BIM programs at universities.

Julide Demirdoven presented “Building Performance Optimization and Energy Modeling in BIM Curriculum” during the 13th BIM Academic Symposium & Job Task Analysis Review in conjunction with Autodesk University in November in Las Vegas.

Few spread the word about BIM better than Demirdoven. She presented “How to Integrate Experiential Learning for Artificial Intelligence in BIM Curriculum” during the Academic Interoperability Coalition’s BIM Academic Symposium in Orlando in March. Demirdoven has also presented at BIM symposiums at Autodesk Headquarters in Boston and at National Institute of Building Sciences in Washington. She contributed to BIM Body of Knowledge (BOK) Framework of Academic Interoperability Coalition (AiC) in BIM Job Task Analysis workshop. She has shared her teaching and training experience with the working group since 2014.
