Before making any long-term real estate decisions after their split from ConAgra, Gavilon sought design expertise to understand their various development options. Our Mission Critical Facilities consulting and design team began working with Gavilon to assess their needs and assist with site selection while identifying opportunities to reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

We identified more than $200,000 in annual energy savings through a study on installing air cooled chillers instead of using district chilled water to cool their space at design load. Our TCO comparison between a virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solution and a traditional PC desktop environment identified more than $75,000 in annual power and cooling savings at full operating capacity of the 700+ occupant, five-story office building. Selecting  VDI is projected to save the company approximately $4,000,000 over ten years in a TCO comparison.

Along with our MEP and Technology services, ESD helped develop the commissioning scope. Our comprehensive scope of services provided Gavilon with multiple points of verification throughout the project to ensure the equipment and systems were designed, installed, and tested according to their operational needs.
