Position Summary

We are looking for a Technology Project Manager in our San Francisco office who wants to jump-start his or her career with a Top Tier Office Engineering Firm. 

In this unique role, you will work with our SF based management team to promote new Technology focused business in the region.  This position will work with the Technology Operations Director and Practice Leader to evaluate opportunities and manage projects.

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful execution and delivery of the project. You will serve as the primary administrator and communications link between ESD and all project stakeholders. You will oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of the project and its deliverables to meet the client’s goals and expectations to ensure a positive experience.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Coordinates project priorities, procedures, scope, schedule and resources across disciplines in accord with the client contract.
  • Manages projects through project lifecycle stages and follows firm processes and procedures.
  • Facilitates project kick-off meeting and attends subsequent meetings with project team and related personnel to manage the client’s expectations and ensure a positive outcome. 
  • Develops detailed work plan to complete design within scope, schedule, and budget; identifies needs from other disciplines and tracks project details for proper documentation. 
  • Directs and supports project team members to meet client objectives and ensure project profitability 
  • Communicates changes in scope, design, and fees to client and team in a clear, concise and professional manner and obtains client approval for before work ensues. 
  • Identifies and pursues opportunities and new projects to add expanded services to the client to add revenue; notifies appropriate ESD personnel of the opportunity.
  • Makes a personal investment in professional growth and development by seeking ways to expand responsibilities, knowledge, and abilities as a project manager.
  • Creates and maintains tools to support project management efficiency and quality through the use of standard templates and deliverables to effectively manage projects unique to the business unit. 

Qualifications / Skill-sets

  • Possesses basic knowledge of design practice of the Technology Group to include: audiovisual systems, structured cabling systems, physical security systems, and wireless systems.
  • Knowledgeable of design and construction concepts, practices, procedures; including, American Institute of Architects and Construction Specifications Institute. 
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and specifications, technical procedures, and government regulations.
  • Manages work independently and delegates effectively to ESD staff and production partners. 
  • Possesses a proactive management style with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong presentation and client relation management (CRM) skills.
  • Knowledgeable with AutoCAD, REVIT and Bluebeam.
  • Interacts with clients, vendors, and co-workers to communicate scope, schedule and budgeted hours to the team.
  • Inspires confidence, enthusiasm and positive morale in the team to influence employees to act.

Education / Certification / Experience

  • Accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 3+ years of Technology Design and/or Project Management experience required.
  • Technology certification such as RCDD, CTS-D or CPP desired.
