Brazil Data Centers Feature Positives, Negatives

Data centers reaped more than $100 billion in business in the United States in 2015 – and they’re growing fast. But what is the outlook in other parts of the world?

In “A Look At International Data Center Development” in Mission Critical Magazine, Paul Schlattman describes both the opportunities and the barriers to entry in the Brazil market. True, there’s an emerging technology center in the world’s seventh-largest economy, but companies from outside of the country are finding that culture and politics can be obstacles. While labor costs are lower for data centers in Brazil compared to the United States, operating costs are higher, thanks to the general outdoor humidity.
