From Print to Digital

Newspapers are mainly in the news because, more and more, they are shutting their doors. Though the Chicago Sun-Times continues to publish, its once-state-of-the-art printing facility was mothballed a few years ago, leaving more than 300,000 square feet of space vacant and needing rejuvenation.

An article co-authored in part by Paul Schlattman and Aaron Duda entitled “Data Center Design: From Print to Digital” in Mission Critical magazine explains how we reimagined the space as a colocation data center. Thanks to infrastructure identified early on — including underground communication and fiber – no major utility upgrades or additional coordination was needed. The flexible and efficient mission critical facility allows for future growth.
