ESD was hired to evaluate the feasibility of converting a big box retail structure into a data center. After initial site assessments, ESD determined that the site qualifies for data center development. The most significant qualifying attribute for the site was the identification of being able to have 31 MW delivered to the site for only minimal utility expansion costs.
Ubiquity is continuing to pursue the potential development of the Phoenix site, and has asked ESD to investigate an additional 15 sites for data center development throughout North America.
