ESD Gets in the Spirit With Office Space

Workspace trends change quickly. ESD was recently challenged with the task of helping to develop an office space that would attract young talent for at least a decade – and not be obsolete at the end of that span.

Constellation Brands, a Fortune 500 wine, beer and spirits company, is moving a few blocks to 131 S. Dearborn from its present space and will occupy more than 130,000 square feet. Managers are moving to open offices, and collaborative spaces have been built for all.

ESD worked closely with Constellation’s information-technology group to develop IT standards, which were lacking at its previous spot. The team’s modular approach ensures that Constellation can change its workspace to adapt to any future trends to make the company’s life easier down the road. ESD also helped Constellation – the maker of Corona, Modelo and other Mexican beers – achieve its goal of authenticity in the new environment, where a Mexican influence on décor and elsewhere will hold sway.

Of course, ESD also had to make sure the new bars operated correctly so co-workers could chat about life after work with a Constellation beverage. When employees move in March 5, no doubt they’ll drink to that.
