Demirdoven Spreads the Word about BIM
Even though the global building industry is expected to be a $12 trillion enterprise by 2020, building construction is still often a low-tech environment. One way to change that is for more engineers -- especially those just coming out of school -- to understand and champion Building Information Modeling (BIM), a process that helps drive efficiency in projects.
Julide Demirdoven is adept at spreading the word about the 3D technology, and she presented “Building Performance and Energy Optimization Learning Modules for BIM Education” during a BIM Symposium of the Academic Interoperability Coalition (AIC) in Boston recently. She explained how BIM Learning Modules created for Department of CAEE at IIT improve BIM software skills and stimulate students’ interaction with BIM professionals.
