ESD has addressed that challenge by inaugurating 30-minute informal discussions inside the company known as Tech Chats. To increase employee awareness of innovative experiences out in the field, engineers chat about what they’ve learned during a specific project every few weeks. Topics have included the unusual obstacles to overcome while renovating Wrigley Field, what to watch out for when trying to achieve water conservation based on third-party rating systems and more.
Tech Chats are the brainchild of the ESD Innovation Team (ESDi), which was formed to improve collaboration across the company and to create a culture that encourages innovation.
